Wheeling District 21 seeks new board member after resignation

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 will accept applications for a new school board member for the second time this year.

Pamela Becker Dean, on the board since 2002, resigned Tuesday and is moving outside of the district's boundaries, district spokeswoman Kara Beach said. Those interested in serving the remainder of Becker Dean's term through April 2019 can submit an application, available at ccsd21.org or at the administration center. The deadline to apply is 3 p.m. Aug. 23, and the board will interview applicants Aug. 31.

Jennifer Tani was appointed in June to a seat formerly held by Jeff Battinus, who was elected in April to the Wheeling Township board.
