Palatine dog training center
A Closer Bond Dog Community Center celebrates the grand opening of its new 8,000-square-foot dog training center at 550 W. Wood St., Unit 300, in Palatine, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5. The new facility is a mile from the company's day care, boarding and grooming store at 842 W. Northwest Highway. Tom Waddle, the former Chicago Bears wide receiver who co-hosts a radio sports-talk show on ESPN 1000, will be on hand from 2 to 4 p.m. The humans-only grand opening event will include tours, door prizes, food and beverages, and demonstrations.
