Everything is magic at World of Faeries Festival

The 13th annual World of Faeries Festival returns this weekend to Vasa Park, 35W217 Route 31, South Elgin.

"We get more and more people coming to this every year," said Gloria Yaeger of Crystal Lake, co-owner of the event with her husband, David.

"I love the spontaneity of the crowd. Everybody has fun. They relax and they can put the 'adult' in them aside for a couple of hours."

The festival, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, is a celebration of all things magical and fairy, and is appropriate for all ages. Entertainment includes musicians, Bubble Wonder Show, falcons, "Thirteen Treasures" Quest, and shopping from a variety of vendors.

Cash admission is $11 at the gate, $8 for people 65 and older, and free for kids 12 and younger. Parking is free and pets are now allowed.
