New trustee in Hawthorn Woods
James W. Kaiser is the newest member of the Hawthorn Woods village board. He was appointed July 24 to fill the remaining term of former Trustee Peter Ponzio, who resigned in May. Kaiser is an attorney specializing in real estate, wills, trusts and general litigation. He had been chairman of the village's planning, building and zoning commission, which reviews all subdivision plans for present or future development. Ponzio was reelected to a 4-year term in April. Because the vacancy occurred 130 or more days before the next municipal election, Kaiser will occupy the position only until that time.
