Streamwood police sign late 3-year contract

Streamwood village board members Thursday approved a 3-year renewal of the contract with their police officers' union, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2016.

Members of Metropolitan Alliance of Police Local 216 will receive salary increases of 2.5-percent retroactive to both Jan. 1, 2016, and Jan. 1, 2017, with another 2.5-percent raise yet to come on Jan. 1, 2018.

The contract renewal also made modifications to police officers' sick leave and evaluations, Streamwood Village Manager Sharon Caddigan said.
