Strawberry Fest in Long Grove opens to beautiful weather

Strawberry Fest, featuring three days of live music, strawberry-infused foods and strawberry pie-eating competitions, opened Friday.

Headliners are Hi Infidelity at 9 p.m. Saturday and The Gingers at 4 p.m. Sunday. Kids activities include Medieval Times junior knight training, dance performances, water balloon toss, spin-art coloring, face painting, arts and crafts, and do-it-yourself gardening. This year's festival also features a carnival.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Details, including admission charges and parking options, are at http://longgrove.org.
