Bubbles float everywhere at Wauconda library event

Young children listened to stories, danced to silly songs, blew bubbles and walked on Bubble Wrap during the "Bubble, Bubble, Pop!" program Wednesday at the Wauconda Area Library.

More than 70 people participated in the event, the second in the library's Sunny Summer Stories series.

"We are doing all bubble things, with a car wash and kids are going to do a craft and make homemade bubbles," said Kelly Marsch, public services associate at the library.

After story time, children created artwork using colored soapy water and blowing bubbles on paper, learned how to create bubbles using just their hands and finished with a parade walking on Bubble Wrap.

"It was pretty fun. The car wash was very creative and the kids got to go through it multiple times," Jackie Berger of Round Lake said after blowing bubbles with her three children, Andy, Alex and Emily. "They do a great job. This is basically our event for the day."

The series runs at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday in June. Next week's program will have a music theme. More information can be found at www.wauclib.org/events/calendar.
