Northwest Highway in Des Plaines to have lane closures
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced lane closures on Northwest Highway at Broadway Street in Des Plaines, beginning the week of May 30. The closures are necessary for a widening and resurfacing project.
In order to complete the work, Northwest Highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project.
The scope of the project consists of widening and resurfacing the roadway, as well as the installation of a new traffic signal. The project will add a left turn lane from southeast bound Northwest Highway to Broadway Street.
The overall project is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
