Lake Zurich chemical recycling event

Lake Zurich's chemical waste recycling event 724 cars dropped off 45,000 pounds of chemical waste last year. After that success, the village is looking to do it again from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in the Lake Zurich High School parking lot at 300 Church St. Common household chemical products that will be accepted include antifreeze, motor oil, fluorescent light bulbs/CFLs, gasoline, kerosene, lithium and rechargeable batteries, oil-based paints, and even prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Latex-based paint, farm chemicals, alkaline batteries, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and household electronics will not be accepted at this event.
