Public meeting June 7 on Cedar Lake Road project

The Lake County Division of Transportation will host a public information meeting June 7 concerning the upcoming reconstruction of Cedar Lake Road between Route 120 and Nippersink Road in Round Lake.

The plan is to reconstruct the road from two lanes to three lanes of pavement to accommodate a center turn lane. This project will include a new multiuse path with a connection to the forest preserve.

Much of the construction for the project this year will be limited to a large culvert replacement with a road closure, utility relocation and other off-road work. The main roadway work will begin in 2018.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the upcoming construction activities, traffic management, and detours on Cedar Lake Road. Exhibits showing the proposed conditions will be on display, and project representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer any questions.

The meeting takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 7, at the Round Lake Public Works Building, 751 W. Townline Road, Round Lake.
