Mari-Rae Sopper gymnastics show this weekend in Palatine

Palatine Gymnastics presents its annual Mari-Rae Sopper spring show at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21, at Palatine Park District's Community Center.

Preschool, Mini-Might, and Super Boys will be featured Saturday, followed by recreational classes Sunday.

The show is in memory of Sopper, who was 35 years old when hijackers crashed the airplane she was on into the Pentagon in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Sopper, a Navy lieutenant and military attorney, grew up in Inverness and was a star gymnast at Fremd High School in Palatine.

The center is at 250 E. Wood St. Admission is $3.
