Elk Grove Township offering summer internship

Elk Grove Township is offering a summer internship open to college students.

The intern will participate in township functions and gain firsthand knowledge of local government. The applicant will also gain experience in administration and finance, and work with general assistance and transportation.

The internship program in its second year was started by Township Supervisor Mike Sweeney.

The intern will work with the Elk Grove Township administrator. Other responsibilities include attending township meetings and meetings with other local government bodies.

The position begins May 30 and continues through the intern's return to school.
