Olympic spirit on display at Mundelein High

Mundelein High School students put their athletic skills to the test Sunday during the Mustang Olympics.

High school friends cheered on teammates in nine events that included an inflatable obstacle course, hamster ball relays, dodgeball tournament and tug-of-war competition.

Due to the rain, the school's Student Leadership organization hosted the event inside the school, where teams named Average Joe's, Assassins and Global Gym Purple Cobra's competed for prizes and "glory."

"It's fun. It's a good thing to do to get excited for the prom and have some fun with friends," senior Ben Krauss of the team One Hit Wonders said after competing in a basketball competition called Knockout.

Almost 100 students competed varsity and junior varsity brackets, with teams consisting of six to 10 members.
