Q: Describe the upcoming championship.
A: The KPMG Women's PGA Championship - a collaboration between the PGA of America, KPMG and the LPGA Tour - will again head to Chicago for just the second time in the Championship's long and storied history.
Broadcast in partnership with NBC and Golf Channel, the championship offers a purse among the highest in women's golf.
The event at Kemper Lakes Golf Course combines an annual major golf championship with the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit and an ongoing charitable initiative called the KPMG Future Leaders Program - all focused on the development, advancement, and empowerment of women on and off the golf course.
Q: What are the dates of the championship?
A: The championship runs from Tuesday, June 26 through Sunday, July 1.
Q: If you had one tip to give to a rookie CEO, what would it be?
A: While I am not a CEO yet, if I had the opportunity to tell a rookie championship director one tip it would be to always have a backup plan.
In the world of major sporting events, often times things don't go as planned. Brainstorming constantly, and having backup plans ready to implement, while trusting your team to put them into action saves a lot of headaches and stress.
Q: What is one interesting fact about you or your company that most people may not know?
A: People are often surprised to find out that I grew up playing different sports other than golf. I played soccer and basketball collegiately.
Q: Do you have a business mantra?
A: Attitude is everything. Excellence, determination and success are all direct results of one's attitude.
Q: From a business outlook, who do you look up to?
A: Currently, and having previously been, surrounded by a number of influential leaders in sport - from working with the PGA of America currently, and previously the NCAA, USGA and Milwaukee Bucks - I've been inspired by many of the industry's best.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I spend a lot of time outdoors with my husband and dogs hiking, biking and camping. I also enjoy binge watching a good Netflix series when time permits.
Q: What book is on your nightstand?
A: "Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action," by Simon Sinek.
Q: What keeps you up at night?
A: Many things. Working in event management, there are so many moving parts, so there is always something on my mind. Multi-tasking is an essential part of my job.
Q: If you were not doing this job, what do you think you would be doing?
A: I'd probably be working at another sporting event or for another sport organization somewhere else in the country.
Q: What was your first paying job?
A: I think my first paying job would've been baby-sitting. This taught me many valuable lessons that I use still to this day.
