Preference will be given to journalism (or other appropriate major) graduates who obtained newsroom experience while in school (i.e. internship, stringer for daily newspaper, staff of school newspaper, magazine, or other similar experience). The Daily Herald is not responsible for interview or relocation costs incurred.
We currently have no openings in our residency program, but regularly accept applications for when an opening does occur. Submitted materials wills be kept on file for six months for the next available opening.
To apply for this program, send a resume and at least 3 clips of your work. Also include a cover letter specifically stating that you are applying for a residency and highlight any additional pertinent experience and your reasons for candidacy for this program. DO NOT USE THE INTERNSHIP APPLICATION FOR THIS PROGRAM. Given the availability of a position and the skill level, an applicant will be contacted for further information, interviewing, and testing. Current college seniors who will graduate prior to the beginning of a residency are also welcome to apply if the above qualifications will be met by the time of graduation.
