Don't feel like cooking this year for Thanksgiving? Suburban restaurants serving turkey dinners offer a respite from the shopping, the prep, the cooking, the guests and the dreaded clean up after the big meal. Here's a sample of Thanksgiving feasts in the suburbs.

Avante Banquets: 1050 Northwest Hwy., Fox River Grove, (847) 287-1006 or avantebanquets.com/. Avante's Thanksgiving brunch buffet, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, features a prime rib carving station, an omelet station and breakfast bar, pasta and seafood stations, a salad bar and a sweet bar. Adults $49 (plus tax and gratuity), $19 kids 5-12. Reservations required.

Blossom Cafe: 8349 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, (708) 453-5300 or theblossomcafe.com/. Homemade pumpkin pie is just one of the treats available during Blossom Cafe's Thanksgiving Day dinner. Open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; the traditional feast costs $18.99. The regular menu also will be available. Reservations suggested.

Thanksgiving dinner features slow-roasted turkey with brioche stuffing, French green beans with Marcona almonds, cranberry pear chutney and Sam's mashed potatoes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. $39 adults, $15 kids. Full dinner menu also will be available. Reservations recommended.

Chandler's Chophouse: 401 N. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, (847) 885-9009 or chandlerschophouse.com/thanksgiving-dinner-at-chandlers/. Chandler's will be serving an a la carte Thanksgiving menu from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Chandler's traditional turkey dinner (hand-carved roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied yams and cranberry sauce) is $22.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids. Other chef's specialties include fire-grilled lollipop lamb chops, prime rib, lobster mac and cheese, barbecue baby back ribs, pumpkin pie, chocolate fudge cheesecake and more. Chessie's Restaurant: 200 Applebee St., Barrington, (847) 382-5020 or chessies-restaurant.com/. Seatings for the Thanksgiving buffet dinner will be at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Thursday. Expect traditional favorites like turkey with gravy, honey-baked ham, country sage and sausage stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake and more. Adults $32.95, kids 12 and younger $14.95. Reservations recommended.

Served family-style, dinner takes place from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday. Thanksgiving dinner includes butternut squash soup, slow-roasted turkey with pan gravy, traditional stuffing, roasted green beans and carrots, Mary's potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet creamed corn and spiced pumpkin cheesecake. The traditional menu includes roast turkey, barbecue ribs, roast pork, mashed potatoes, a traditional dessert table and more. Adults $25 (plus tax and gratuity), kids 10 and younger $10.95. Francesca's: Many of the suburban Francesca's restaurants will be serving classic Thanksgiving Day specials with an Italian twist. Specials include roasted butternut squash and mascarpone cream soup, pumpkin-filled pasta with fresh tomatoes, brown butter, sage and parmigiano, hand-carved turkey breast with sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans and cranberries, porcini-rubbed rib-eye with broccoli and Calabrian-style potatoes and pumpkin pie. The specials will be available from noon to 7 p.m. at La Sorella di Francesca, 18 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville; Francesca's North, 1145 Church St., Northbrook; Francesca's Amici, 174 N. York St., Elmhurst; Francesca's Tavola, 208 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights; Francesca's Intimo, 293 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest; Francesca's Passaggio, 3124 IL-59, Naperville; and Francesca's Famiglia, 1000 E. Station St., Barrington. Diners can choose between a Thanksgiving feast devised by chef Reynoso in the Grand Ballroom or Thanksgiving dinner in B. Restaurant for the same price. Seatings in the Grand Ballroom are at 1 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, where guests can choose from soups, salads, entrees including a honey citrus turkey with maple gravy, plus homemade sides and desserts. Arts and crafts will be available for kids. Dinner at B. includes a more intimate setting and a prix fixe menu. Expect a carving station featuring Vermont turkey with corn bread stuffing and a bone-in Virginia ham, made-to-order omelets, seasonal salads and seafood, a pasta station, pumpkin pie, a cobbler skillet station and more. The special menu, which is available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, features hand-carved roasted turkey with sweet onion apple-sausage stuffing, butternut squash soup, sweet potato casserole with a pecan crust, shaved Brussels sprouts with caramelized onions and smoked bacon, and chocolate pecan pie or pumpkin pie.
