Haunted houses in the suburbs during the 1960s and 70s were certainly tame by today's standards.
Join us as we visit spook houses decorated for families and teens.
Victorian homes often served as a setting for costumed ghouls, witches, vampires and monsters who scared visitors making their way through darkened rooms.
Many of the haunted houses in our gallery were presented by park districts and service organizations such as the Jaycees, which were decorated and staffed by teen volunteers.
