A Seussian salute to kids' film fest

<b>'The Man in the Can' - a poem by Dann</b>

The sun was not shining

It was too wet to play

So we just watched TV

On that cold, icky day.

Sally, my friend, said,

"Let's see a flick!"

We hit dailyherald.com

To find something quick.

"Horrors!" said Sally,

Falling into a funk,

"All these kids films

Are nothing but junk!"

We were crushed! We were mad!

We were sick!

Sick!

Sick!

Sick!

And we did not like it.

Not one tiny lick.

Then something went BEEP!

How that BEEP! made us leap!

We looked! Then we saw him

Step out of a van!

We looked and we saw him!

The Man in the Film Can!

And he said, "Don't panic!

For I have a plan!

Chicago's International

Children's Film Fest!

It offers kids' movies

and only the best!

There'll be workshops,

Discussions and movies galore

Features! And shorts! And more!

More!

More!

More!

"October 27 through November 5

Get tickets at (773) 281-9075.

Don't settle for being

A Hollywood Borg!

Expand your universe

At festival.facets.org."

The Man in the Can left

But his message was heeded.

The Children's Film Fest

Was just what we needed!

A fest guest you'll be

For only $6 per kid.

So Sally and I went.

Yes, we did,

Did!

Did!

Did!
