Rum's not just for summer at Schaumburg's Bahama Breeze. The restaurant celebrates fall through Nov. 5 with the fifth annual Rumtoberfest, a spin on Oktoberfest that includes drinks, rum-inspired dishes, fortunetellers, games and giveaways. This year's Rumtoberfest also introduces the Rum Raid - Bahama Breeze's largest rum flight. It features eight rum-based cocktails for parties of two or more to share. Fab at Five
Itasca's Church Street Brewing marks its five-year anniversary in a big way this weekend with music, food trucks and even circus acts by Kentucky's BIRCUS Brewery. Five different bands play over Friday and Saturday nights. Toasty Cheese pulls up from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, while Chicago Pizza Boss' truck will be on site from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. The circus show runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tapping a winner
Oktoberfest at Ram means tapping a winner. The brewery's Oktoberfest Bier earned Ram brewers their fourth consecutive Oktoberfest medal at the 2017 North American Beer Awards. Dave Leonard, Ram's director of brewing operations, describes the beer as a "smooth, copper-hued lager with toasty malt sweetness and crisp hop finish."
