Make Ahead Frozen Cosmo or Martinis

2½ cups vodka

3 cups cranberry juice

½ cup Cointreau, or triple sec

½ cup sour mix

½ cup water

Combine all ingredients in a plastic container, stir and freeze overnight. When ready to serve, stir (mixture should be slushy) and scoop into glasses. Mixture will be icy, but if you prefer, allow it to melt and you will have a perfect martini.

Garnish with a lime wedge.

Serves 6 to 8

The recipe can easily be adapted to other recipes as well. Here are some examples.

French martini: 2½ cups vodka; 3 cups pineapple juice; ½ cup Chambord; ½ cup water. Garnish with fresh raspberries.

Lemon Drop: 1½ cups citron vodka; ¾ cup lemon juice; ½ cup each Limoncello and triple sec; 1/3 cup sugar; ½ cup water. Garnish by rimming glass in fine sugar a lemon twist.

Blue Cosmo: 2½ cups vodka; 3 cups white cranberry juice; ¾ cup Blue Curacao; ¼ cup lemon juice or sour mix; ½ cup water. Garnish with a rock candy swizzle stick.

Watermelon martini: 2 cups vodka (watermelon flavor if you can find it); 4 cups watermelon juice; 1 cup Limoncello or orange liquor; ½ cup fresh lime juice. To garnish, rim glass in equal parts sugar and salt with watermelon slice.

Dreamsicle martini: 2 cups vanilla or whipped cream vodka; 2 cups orange juice; ½ cup orange liquor; 8 scoops vanilla ice cream, softened

2 cups cream soda. Garnish with a candy orange slice.
