Hand-me-down patio set has to go

Our backyard lacks any kind of cohesion or character. We have a hand-me-down patio set plus some tall chairs, but no matching table for them. Nothing is warm or welcoming and I'm not sure how to do this.

The grill is very old and needs parts, so we don't even grill often. Because we love fires, we bought a tiny firepit from Menard's, but it tips easily so it's probably not sturdy enough to use if we invite friends with kids over.

Our dream has always been to have a warm, welcoming backyard to share with our big circle of friends, but it's a little embarrassing right now. We love our neighborhood and home, just not the backyard as it stands. I lack vision and would love some help!

Suggestions

• Fire pit: This durable steel fire pit is the perfect one for you backyard. It is sturdy and low to the ground so there is no need to worry about this one tipping over. It also has mesh panels that prevent sparks from escaping. It has a modern style that will fit perfectly on your patio!

• Grill: The perfect way to entertain when the weather is nice is to host an outdoor barbecue and grill out with your friends. Whether you choice Char Broil or Weber, both are leaders in the grilling industry and both have quality products. I would recommend checking out both brands and seeing what is best for you and your family at a price point that works best for you. Don't forget your grill brush and grill cover to protect your new grill from the Midwest weather!

• Patio furniture: Seating around your fire pit is a must when entertaining. You want to make sure you have something functional and yet durable. I would recommend Adirondack chairs with a side table for food and drinks. These lightweight and comfortable chairs are great for the whole family. If there is a spill, no worries, the chairs and end table are washable too.

• Outdoor storage: Are you storing your gardening tools or yard games in your garage? Why don't you store these items right in your backyard with a deck box or outdoor storage. This one I have picked will work perfectly for you and your family because it doubles as a bench. It is long lasting, easy to maintain and has a durable resin construction. If you want to use it as a bench, don't forget to get a comfortable bench cushion and add a pop of color to your backyard.
