Unity from patch after all

Complaints from some misinformed residents about the Blue Line Flag on Mount Prospect Police uniforms didn't fall on deaf ears. Sadly, four of the seven trustees voted for the patch's removal. Residents need to vote for their removal from office.

They never anticipated this twist: the patches are now raising funds for families of police officers from agencies around the state who are killed in the line of duty.

So, in their lack of wisdom, the complainers and weak town leadership are actually fostering unity among members of the wider law enforcement family, which is exactly what the blue line flag represents, unity. How ironic. The bellyaching of some uneducated folks backfired on them.
