Endorsement: The Daily Herald recommends Wehrli over Montgomery for Illinois House District 41
Voters in House District 41 will choose between incumbent Grant Wehrli, a Republican from Naperville, and Val Montgomery, a Democrat also from Naperville.
Wehrli is a former Naperville city councilman and was born and grew up in the district he represents. He's been a part of Naperville's success and he's taken that local experience to Springfield. Wehrli's understanding of budgeting, fiscal discipline and the pension-funding crisis is solid, and he brings concrete solutions to the table. Election officials say Montgomery doesn't live in the district, and despite our attempts to contact her about joining our endorsement interview and fill out a candidate questionnaire, Montgomery did not respond.
We endorse Wehrli.
