What Trump should be saying about meddling

From my many years of observations, it seems that when convicted felons, including murderers, are asked if they committed the crime; the overwhelming response is "No." And now we have incontrovertible evidence that the Russian government interfered and attempted to influence our elections in 2016. And there is very little doubt that Vladimir Putin (or as a minimum the highest levels of the Russian government) officially set this operation in motion.

This has been described as akin to an act of war - a very cold war to be sure. And yet our commander in chief has the audacity to say that "Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with meddling in our election."

What our commander in chief should have told Putin at his meeting in Helsinki was simply this: "Our intelligence agencies (which happen to be the best in the world) have now presented a vast amount of evidence that your government has attempted to influence our elections. Simply put that is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Until my intelligence agencies are able to establish that these nefarious activities have totally stopped, we will be using all of our economic strength to set maximum sanctions against your government. And we will be speaking with all of our allies, which of course includes NATO, to support us in this effort."

Enough said.
