Loss of trees is costly
I recently read an article posted about the destruction of trees at Buffalo Creek preserve. I live across the street from Buffalo Creek Nature Preserve on Checker Road. The destruction and grinding of the trees runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. almost every day. Not only are they destroying unhealthy weak trees but almost EVERY tree has been destroyed. The view is horrendous. No private nature preserve now. Isn't a nature preserve supposed to be left to be left the way nature intended it? Blue herons visited this site every day. Coyotes, ducks, geese, many songbirds' nests ... all are being destroyed. When I contacted the forest preserve they said only weak, small trees were involved, but they have almost flattened it. Many residents are outraged. The natural privacy the creek provided along with the shade and view are destroyed. They have devalued our homes.
