And the MLB is worried about the color of shoes?

I understand that Major League Baseball is having issues with some of the Cubs wearing black shoes.

First, why doesn't the manager, Joe Madden, enforce the rules before allowing his team on the field? Second, why is MLB so concerned with shoe color when they have players running around the diamond wearing gold chains that would make Mr. T jealous.

What is the rule on gold chains? Is that "uniform"? I can only imagine what my drill instructor in basic training would have done if I showed up in formation wearing a gold chain. I would probably still be on KP and scrubbing garbage cans.

A uniform is exactly what it means - everyone is exactly the same - uniform. Why can some players wear traditional knee-high socks and other players wear pants that are two inches too long?

MLB is concerned about shoe color? Give me a break.
