Thank you to all volunteers

This week, April 15-21, is National Volunteer Week, a time set aside to encourage and recognize volunteers. As an organization that relies heavily on the time and talents of our volunteers who support many different areas of the Park District, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you.

In 2017, more than 3,100 individuals gave a total of 83,296 hours to assist the park district in providing park and recreation experiences for our community. Using the 2017 value determined by Independent Sector, volunteers contributed $2,010,765 - a significant savings for the park district and Naperville taxpayers.

Volunteers help us with a variety of tasks including reception at our facilities, support at special events, photography, park cleanup, ushering, summer camps, youth sports coaching, citizen committees and many other activities. This month, as part of Earth Week Naperville, many volunteers will help beautify our parks, mulch trails, pull weeds and much more.

Thanks to each of you who has found time in your busy schedules to volunteer. I speak on behalf of the entire park district staff and park board when I say we greatly appreciate you and thank you for your support of the Naperville Park District.

Ray McGury, Executive Director

Naperville Park District
