Adults must help kids bring change

I was so inspired and honored to march with our students in the cause of ending our nation's epidemic of gun violence. The message from our youth came across loud and clear: they are sick and tired of being gunned down because our adults refuse to do anything to limit the carnage.

As a teacher who has the ultimate privilege to mentor them on a daily basis, I want to say how very, very proud I am to be associated with their cause.

Is it really too much of them to ask that they be allowed to attend school without the fear of being murdered by some crazed gunman? Apparently. tragically, in this country, it is.

As the march proved, there are many responsible adults. We must help effect change on this issue or get out of their way.
