Listen to the students of Parkland, Florida

Another killer. Another school. More innocent victims who are offered "thoughts and prayers." Unfortunately, politicians aren't motivated to pass gun legislation because they are accepting big money from the NRA.

The students of Parkland immediately decided enough is enough. They are smart, articulate and have listed their demands for change.

What do they want? Since nearly all Americans, including the overwhelming majority of NRA members, want gun ownership prohibited for all felons, mentally disturbed, those on the terror watch list and those involved in domestic acts of violence. Their demands also include banning assault weapons, high capacity magazines and "bump stock" devices.

That's not all they want … every politician who takes money from the NRA to be voted out of office. Any company that offers discounts to NRA members to be called and told to divest from the NRA, like car rentals, airlines, banks, FedEx and Walgreens to name a few.

More encouraging news is that Tom Steyer has spent millions on an online petition and more millions to create the largest group of activists who will focus on politicians in 10 states. More good news is that James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Sarah Silverman, John Oliver and more comedians will participate in the launch of the "Glam Up the Midterms" show that will be traveling to districts all over this country to encourage Millennials to vote in the midterm election.

IF the students are to realize what they need to survive, they need you and me to call our representative and senators in Washington and tell them "if you dare take money from the NRA, I'll vote you off our island".

A vote for an NRA-backed politician is a vote for more mass murders.
