Leadership on transportation issues saves lives

As president of the Illinois Chapter of the American Traffic Safety Services Association, and a Chicago-area business owner, I wanted to share some insights on why I think Rep. Dan Lipinski deserves another term in Congress.

Lipinski consistently works to better the daily lives of Chicago-area residents through his expertise and leadership on transportation and infrastructure issues. Specifically, he is one of the top leaders on roadway safety policy in Congress. His legislative successes on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee have saved lives not only in Illinois, but across the country.

Throughout the years, Lipinski has supported additional federal funding for roadway safety projects, ensured that the funds are used for those intended purposes and fought to raise awareness of the need to invest in federal transportation funding to reduce roadway fatalities and injuries.

When we send individuals to Congress to represent us, we all hope that they show strong leadership and successfully offer solutions on the issues that face their constituents in their daily lives. I have found that Lipinski's thoughtful work on infrastructure issues has had a positive impact on Chicago-area residents and commuters.

For this, he not only deserves another term in Congress, but other members of Congress should consider him an example of leadership, hard work, and constituent-first priorities.
