I'm thrilled about the many great choices we have on the Illinois Democratic ballot in this primary election. I am most excited to support and vote for Lauren Underwood, who is running to become the Democratic nominee for Congressional District 14.

Lauren Underwood is a registered nurse and health policy expert who has worked as a senior adviser at the Department of Health and Human Services after being appointed to this position by President Obama. She is the only Congressional District 14 Democratic candidate with any federal government experience.

Lauren Underwood's expertise in health care policy, which is crucial in this time, also stands out. She has the most nuanced and realistic understanding of and experience with our nation's health care system and policy enactment. She will also thoroughly learn about any issue and make decisions based on this research, critical thinking, and listening to constituents.

Lauren Underwood will fight to protect and expand access to affordable health care, fund investments in infrastructure that create middle-class jobs, save Social Security and Medicare, support common sense gun safety legislation, and improve funding for public education.
