Something must change
Last year when 58 people died and hundreds were wounded, President Donald Trump said it was too soon to talk about changing gun laws. Seventeen people killed in a Florida high school and now he wants to make changes in laws. That is something he should have pushed for after the Las Vegas shootings. Maybe he didn't want to rock the boat with the NRA.
NRA President Wayne LaPierre doesn't want stricter gun laws because it affects the profits on gun manufacturers. He uses that wornout cliché "the liberals want to take away your guns so you can't depend your home or hunt." That is pure rubbish but it sounds good to his followers.
The main function of the NRA is to fund politicians who want to leave things status quo. They are against change that cuts down the possible risk of more mass shootings.
Stricter background checks, eliminating high-capacity gun magazines and no body armor to civilians are a start. Nothing is a 100 percent, but things can't stay as they are.
Getting back to President Donald Trump, it is shameful how he talks about going into the building unarmed to take on the shooter. Hey, he refused to go into the service; he had a bone spur. Maybe he was going to stab the shooter with his bone spur.
