No need for automatic weapons

Why do we allow automatic weapons to be bought in gun shops? Automatic weapons are used in wars, not to be used by individuals. When the Second Amendment was written, we didn't have automatic weapons. You don't hunt with automatic weapons and there is no reason why people should be able to buy automatic weapons. If they want a regular rifle for hunting, that is fine. Pistols for protection are fine. But to allow ordinary people to purchase automatic weapons should not be. There are too many shootings today with automatic weapons. People should be checked before they buy any guns. Especially automatic weapons. The Second Amendment is to be able to protect you and yours. If we don't do something about this, many more tragedies will happen.
