Candidate deserves more attention
I just returned from canvassing for gubernatorial candidate Daniel Biss in my neighborhood. What surprised me was that few of the people I talked to had heard of him.
Yes, I know that is what canvassing is all about, but I cannot help but wonder if the media is failing to share information about all the candidates, rather than cherry-picking those that they think have the best chance of winning. Let me be clear, Daniel is still "in it to win it" and should be given equal coverage by reporters in the state.
When the media gives unfettered attention to certain candidates over others, we end up with undeserving individuals who don't represent us and do not have our best interests in mind. Daniel is like most Illinoisans. He is not a billionaire, and as such, is not beholden to anyone but his constituents.
He has proved legislative experience as a state congressman and knows how to work across the aisle in a bipartisan manner to effect change. He sees the potential in all that Illinois has to offer to all of us and has plans to make that happen.
I hope that Democrats will give Daniel Biss a good look and vote for him in the March 20 Democratic primary. He is the real deal and should be given an opportunity to make a difference for Illinois citizens.
