A glimmer of hope
First of all, thank you, editorial staff of Daily Herald. I totally agree with your defense of using The Washington Post. Your article last week about how the president treated the FBI last year is a must read. Your series about "Facts Matter" is essential and has given me a glimmer of hope about the facts coming at me.
I am discouraged about how the president has vilified and criticized almost all of our institutions of government. Are these institutions perfect? Of course not. But that's all we've got right now, and his further vitriol in my opinion, is treason. His worst damage is causing the American people to doubt the foundations of our democracy. I can only imagine how Putin is laughing his head off.
Press on, Daily Herald. I support a free press. Our president seems to have forgotten that particular clause in the Constitution. And believe it or not, I pray every day for Donald Trump to have a heart attack: an attack of love and compassion.
