Check out megachurch for truth on needy
In response to a letter regarding a local megachurch's possible misguided efforts of serving the prisoners in Illinois and Louisiana, please check out our website, or better yet, come visit our Care Center.
We have a food pantry that is beyond amazing, a clothing section for kids, a car care ministry staffed with volunteer licensed mechanics for people who can't afford to have their cars repaired, and cars donated for struggling, single moms.
We have a state of the art dental office for the volunteer dentists and hygienists to serve our guests who have no dental coverage and can't afford a dentist. We have optometrists who volunteer their time to help our guests with vision concerns. We host job fairs and can have anywhere from 30 to 50 companies set up booths looking to hire on the spot.
And weeks before the job fair, we offer classes on resume writing, preparing for interviews, etc. We have ESL classes and computer labs for guests to learn or brush up on their skills. We offer legal services with a trusted attorney. We have volunteers to help with home maintenance. We have tax preparation services.
We have a nurse during the Care Center hours available for screenings. And while our guests are waiting, we even have child care. And we do provide shelter for the homeless through PADS. The list goes on.
In regards to our prison ministry, many of these men and women have no hope. We try to give them hope so when they are released, they would feel encouraged to continue on a different path. I've actually met a couple of young men who had received compassion from our ministry while they were incarcerated.
Recently released, they were in the process of seeking help with our career counselors. Please check us out online.
You don't need to be a member to receive services or volunteer. This church truly practices what it preaches. Come for a visit. And now is a great time to attend one of our inspiring services and get a taste of Christ's love in action.
