Tax-climate allure

As a 68-year-old resident of Illinois (Arlington Heights youth-Mundelein adult) and a history major (WIU) I enjoyed the article "We could have been Wisconsin." Some things I either forgot about or never learned in my state of Illinois history class. However, in retrospect, I wish we had been taken in by Wisconsin. That way I would never be "mad again" about Speaker of the House Madigan who is a 38-year career politician and whose daughter is our state's attorney general and she never investigates her father. Our home of 29 years is for sale in the spring, and it is only a hop, skip and a jump across the border to Trevor, Wisconsin, and lower property taxes and roughly the same state income tax. Unfortunately the weather will still be the same.
