Cartoon twists message

The political cartoon by Tim Campbell of the veteran setting fire to a stack of GQ magazines with Colin Kaepernick on the front makes me sad and angry. How Mr. Kaepernick's statement on racial injustice got twisted into an attack on America and its flag shows how anything can be spun by the president and the media. Setting fire to free speech in any form goes against what America purports to value. Can we please understand that America's history of racial injustice - and ongoing racial injustice - needs to be forefront in our minds or we have no hope of ever getting past it. I'm disappointed that the Herald chose to print this cartoon.
