GOP whittling away at middle class
The Nov. 20 article by Dennis Dedmond of Glen Ellyn seem to be a surprising revelation that Congressman Peter Roskam, as well as Randy Hultgren, would push forward a tax plan that would cater to the middle and lower classes' ability to equalize the IRS's "claws and fangs" sinking into us little guys.
How naive. Over the last several years the GOP has been slowly whittling away at the middle and lower classes' ability to limit the IRS's siphoning off funds and then pass them off to corporations and the upper 1 percent under the guise of turning this into a trickle-down economy.
George H.W. Bush got it right, and called it "voodoo economics." It didn't work in the Reagan era. That boost in the economy came from lowering the federal bank's lending rate from double digits to single digit.
Let's call it what it is. The GOP is tied to "big money contributors" and allows them to feast in the troth of our federal treasury. The GOP waves the "abortion card" so you will not vote for Democrats, which is totally inaccurate. There are many pro-life Democrats. That's the GOP's shell game to get you looking the other way while they pick your pocket with a tax plan that is being voted on now.
So GOP voters, don't complain if you aren't willing to vote the other party and wake the GOP up. People, get a backbone and vote for your pocketbook and not scare tactics.
