Somebody will lose in a consolidation of districts 57, 59

The front page article of Nov. 14, 2017 on the consolidation of Districts 59 and 57 left out a very important fact. Many years ago the same subject was put to the voters of both districts.

When the fact that the taxes in District 57 would go down and the taxes in District 59 would go up was known, the voters spoke at the ballot box.

District 57 approved the consolidation and District 59 rejected the consolidation.

This should have been noted in the article. My wife and I paid our taxes to send our children to District 59 schools and do not want to pay extra for District 57's.
