It's cost of coffee that gets me heated up

As much as I think the "pop tax" is nothing but a way of digging deeper into the public's pockets and has nothing to do with health concerns, at least I can beat it since I live close enough to Lake County to avoid the tax when I want to purchase soft drinks. What really bothers me though is the fact that a cup of coffee in a restaurant is the same price as a gallon of gasoline. Oh yes, they'll top off your cup. Not a big deal. The same goes for a tea bag (costs 3 cents retail) and you only get a refill of hot water. There was a time when a dime bought a cup of coffee. I realize that's no longer possible. I was ready to accept a 50 cents or even dollar cup. I suppose that by ordering only water, I am really saving more each time the coffee price goes higher. Perhaps if enough people feel as I do, it just might bring the cost down to a reasonable level. Yes, a restaurant must show a profit, but a cup of coffee or tea shouldn't be the price of a gallon of gasoline.
