Once in a while, good things happen

Our club, the Rotary Club of Arlington Heights Sunset, needed to buy printed T-shirts for volunteers who walked with us in the Arlington Heights Fourth of July parade, where we collected food items needed by the Wheeling Township Food Pantry. Supporting the food pantry is our club's service project.

We bought the shirts from High-5 Printwear, a local business in Arlington Heights. When we went to get our T-shirts, the owner, John Schram. asked if we wanted apparel to give to those in need. We immediately said yes.

We picked up a variety of tees, sweatshirts, etc., sorted them by type and sizes (noting that all of the clothing was new) and at the end we had nine large plastic bags filled.

We contacted PADS in Palatine and they readily agreed to accept the clothing.

Another example of kindness and generosity that often occurs quietly in our community.
