Final round of help with Roselle flags
As we approach the last Flags for Roselle installation for 2017 on November 11, Veterans Day, we want to be sure that all know what an important role they are playing and how appreciated they are.
This is a first-time-ever event in Roselle that has proved to be a rousing demonstration of our citizens' patriotism. Clearly, Rosellians appreciate that the freedom we enjoy every day is due to the sacrifices of those who came before us and those currently serving in the Armed Forces.
A special thank you to the Lake Park High School students who came out in droves to show everyone they "get it." Along with the high school, the village of Roselle, the fire department, the American Legion and Roselle History Museum, the schools, churches, scouting programs, veterans' programs, and other dedicated groups continue to impress on us that the freedoms we take for granted come at a cost.
Now we're asking our faithful citizens to step up once again. For Veterans Day, we need 20 teams of two or three individuals to install nearly 200 flags in front yards throughout town. To volunteer for a team, contact Dominic Manola at Lake Park High School, dmanola@lphs.org.
