Mailer on property tax bill was misleading

I received a mailing from my state representative, Michelle Mussman. She states that she passed legislation that would cut property taxes. Well, I don't know what civics class she had or even if she took one, but she cannot pass legislation. She may introduce a bill. She may debate a bill. She may even vote on a bill. But she cannot pass any legislation. No one person in the legislature has that authority, not even Madigan.

I guess she thinks we're all Democrats and can't think for ourselves, but she is wrong. Some of us have our heads out of the Democrats' trough and are not swallowing the slop we're being fed. The reason Mussman voted against the income tax is because Madigan had the votes to override the governor's veto. Otherwise, she would be in lockstep with the rest of the Democrats.

As for the property tax freeze, she can't be fighting too hard, because my property taxes keep going up. I forgot that Madigan appoints the people to the tax appeals board. Enough said.
