Elites focus on politics while ignoring real issues

For the past eight years, we have had a foreign policy based in appeasement, extremely questionable over-regulated economic policies and an agenda bent on changing and redefining our social and cultural structure, all courtesy of Ivy League-heavy, smartest-people-in-the-room types. The result is close to $20 trillion in debt, a population more divided than at any period in my lifetime and real threats from all around the globe - all courtesy of the enlightened elite.

Love him or hate him, we have a new duly elected president who along with a huge portion of the population wants to try something new based on clear evidence that the old ways are not working on many fronts. With all these major issues at hand, we now see roughly 80-90 percent of the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., are more intent on getting the new president out of office than they are on addressing the problems we face.

I think we all need to realize that for those inside the beltway, maintaining the very powerful, very lucrative exclusive club of ruling class elites is the priority over dealing with any of the actual issues. Instead of seeing the continually underestimated support president Trump has as some type of indication on the direction they should consider, they choose to label it as the rantings of uneducated, racist working class, while they go in search of a crime, any crime from any time, they can hang on the new president.

I was not happy when Obama was elected in '08, I was even more disappointed in 2012 and still see many problems as Obama residue (including a big part of the reason the sure winner Hillary lost) but as an American, I considered him my president and struggle to understand the over-the-top opposition to President Trump, which often seems like the tantrum of a sore loser spoiled child.
