Comparison was wrong
I rarely send my thoughts in response to one of your writers. However, after reading the article titled "Echoes of Vietnam," I must respond. The author, Georgie Anne Geyer is way off base in her comparison of Afghanistan with the War in Vietnam. Let me say that I am a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War (decorated). First off, no Vietnamese ever conducted an attack upon the United States like that of bin Laden and his group. If Ms. Geyer believes that there is a similarity, let her talk to the thousands of mothers, fathers, wives, brothers, sisters and other family members whose loved ones were slaughtered in the attack on the Twin Towers.
