State must prove it can handle money wisely

I just finished reading an article in the Herald by Jake Griffin about how much money the state is losing because of not taxing senior citizens income. How come whenever people talk about taking more money from someone they say it costs the state "X" amount of dollars to let you keep your own money?

Why does it cost the state money to let me keep my money? That is the slant they like to use to make you feel bad because it costs the state money. Sorry, it does not cost the state one dime to not tax someone.

I know the state is looking for more ways and more people to confiscate their hard earned dollars but I refuse to go along with any tax increases until this state can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are not wasting tax dollars and can handle money wisely.

The last income tax hike put Illinois further in debt then it was before the hike. It has been said before but I guess I will say it again. This state does not have a revenue problem it has a spending problem. Adding more taxes to send to the general fund is like throwing the money down a sinkhole. Illinois residents cannot afford the government that has risen out of Springfield.
