Get outsider for vacant village board seat

I was a candidate for elected office in the April municipal election. I learned much that cycle, such as how simple comments can label a candidate as being against select members of our society. I also saw that educating people about their constitutional rights and interaction with the police became twisted as anti-police. I personally had even been falsely accused of proclaiming an alliance of support by a public service group, by opponents. This is only a part of the negativity which I had been exposed to during the campaign season.

The reason why I am writing this today is, our mayor and trustees are in the process of qualifying and choosing an individual to fill a vacant seat for village trustee. I am hoping that a fresh, new, community-minded resident is chosen. One who is not part of the current political structure nor has been involved with past politics.

Then, in a year and a half, when that seat is up for election, the voters could decide upon retention or replacement of the appointed representative.
