Thoughts on food, energy, education in U.S.

Letter to our government:

It seems to me that there is plenty of blame being spewed around by everybody from politicians to average citizens. As an average American citizen, I've looked at the USA and the world and have come to a few conclusions that seem to have merit. Essentially I look at food, energy and education.

Food: Technology to grow food; Don't give away; Charge fair price; Barter for trade, oil, other services etc.

Energy (oil, coal, natural gas, nuclear):

• Oil. The USA has one of the largest reserves on land and sea. Use them responsibly. Store or sell excess to China and/or other countries.

• Natural gas. The U.S. has one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world. Let's continue to use it conscientiously.

• Coal. The USA has more coal reserves than most other countries, if we can send a man to the moon, and probes to Mars and study outer space why can't we spend some of the time developing clean, economically feasible and affective ways to use coal in the USA and abroad?

• Nuclear. We have the technology to develop ways of reusing spent fuel until it doesn't need to be stored in underground caves for tens of thousands of years. and future equation to help utilize the available energy sources while we develop other alternatives.

• EPA. No more free reign; define their responsibility and have the epa report to Congress

Education: Work with a little discipline, a little respect for those that have gone before us, and educating the young unselfishly about all that made America great. Elementary and HS should be praising the accomplishments of the great inventors of our time positively to influence and stimulate children to want to learn and emulate these great contributors to our society.
