Thanks for support of Jeanine literacy run

A very special thank you to all who made the 5K G.L.O.W. Run in Naperville on Saturday, June 3, a fantastic success!

Once again we were overwhelmed by the tremendous turnout. There were 1,600 runners/walkers, many with glow items and costumes, and many more children and adults cheering them on and enjoying the fun-filled evening of music, dancing, food and refreshments.

A sincere thanks to Mayor Steve Chirico and former Mayor George Pradel - we were honored to have them join us for the festivities - plus Dan Bridges, superintendent of Naperville Unit District 203; Karen Sullivan, superintendent of Indian Priaire Unit District 204; Hugh Boger, principal of Scott School; Naperville Police Department; city of Naperville; Fifth Avenue Station management, residents and businesses; numerous sponsors and donors, and residents along the route.

We also thank Mayor Chirico for assisting in presenting this year's Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Literacy Fund grant awards to Turning Pointe Autism Foundation; May Watts Elementary School; Metea Valley and Waubonsie high schools; District 203 Connections Transition Program; All Saints Catholic Academy; Project HELP; Kennedy Junior High School; and the Jeanine Nicarico DuPage Children's Advocacy Center.

Our special thanks to event organizers Tracey Nelson, Kathy Brown and Christine Roy, and the over 100 volunteers for their incredible dedication and passion that has made this event bigger and better every year. It has become a traditional event that brings the community together for an evening of fun, fitness and comradery. It is the kick-off to summer and a "Naperville Happening."

Our heartfelt thanks to the community for its support of both this event and our family. We truly believe it is a most fitting way to remember Jeanine, a little girl always bubbling over with joy and always enjoying a good time with others!

Hope to see everyone next year.

Pat and Tom Nicarico and family
